Many woodworking projects start with a story. Maybe, a hundred years ago, Great Grandpa planted a tree that was recently downed by a storm. Maybe development needs require removing a historic grove. Or maybe you are building a home and want to incorporate some of the natural gifts of the land into your new home. Turning a log into a beautiful live-edge table or mantel is a wonderful way to preserve and commemorate history.

That’s where we can help! Our sawmill is equipped with two mills and can slab logs with diameters up to 53”. We can then stack, sticker, and band your slabs for air drying before kiln drying.

After a log is slabbed, the slabs need to air dry for some time before they can be safely kiln dried. We aim for 20% - 25% moisture content before we kiln dry hardwoods for the integrity of the wood. We will work with you on a solution for where to store your wood until it is ready for the kiln.

We are often asked if we cut dimensional lumber. While our equipment is capable, our focus is on cutting beautiful thick live edge slabs and mantels. We can work with you on a case by case basis to build a custom milling plan for your material.
